Bourbon Sunrise

We’re not big orange juice drinkers, but we had to buy some for a Thanksgiving recipe a few days back. We couldn’t find anything smaller than a 32 ounce container at the store for a recipe that called for 4 ounces! Well…what to do with the rest but a cocktail, right? We also had left over Maker’s Mark (I know, right?!) and some maraschino cherries, so we came up with the Bourbon Sunrise. It’s probably not very original, but it tastes so good we don’t really care. Here’s the recipe:

Makes two cocktails:

  • 3 oz of Maker’s Mark
  • 1 1/2 oz of Grand Marnier
  • 6 oz of orange juice
  • Maraschino cherries, including some of the juice

Fill two low balls with ice and split the bourbon and Grand Marnier between the glasses. Top off with the orange juice. Add some of the cherry juice by pouring it slowly into each glass until you see some red at the bottom of the glasses. Garnish with a cherry. This is a great cocktail to end the Thanksgiving weekend! Enjoy!
